Thanks everyone - I have been trying to sit it out for the two days we had in Florence but the Rome and Milan sections were action packed, loads of walking and early starts. I can't walk more than 50m without a sit down at the moment!
I'm just so miffed as this trip was for our 10th wedding anniversary too and something we've both said we have always wanted to do.
Still, French roll roads today to Calais mostly all the way at 130kph then back into blighty.
I do have lots of pics - I know you'll love loads of them when I write up too.
There's always another year ! Your health comes first , hope you feel better soon .
Loved the thread and looking forward to seeing pics when your up to it
Well, good job we came back, now at my local acute with septacemia but they don't yet know the course. Lots of tests being done but it was the fastest route through a&e I've ever had. No waiting, no triage just straight on a trolley and into resus!
Mate sorry to hear this, and really do wish you a speedy recovery....you're lucky you have a wife who drives, let alone who is happy to drive n the other side of the road...I am not sure my Mrs would have dne that!!!
At least things should improve for you from here . Hopefully some high points to look back on before the downturn
I,m heading home from SoF thursday so will post up some pics of the Millau bridge hopefully as a tonic for your recovery
