Our daughter passed her test today-

It only felt like a month ago you got married. You had a baby and she is 17 already in that time? :rofl:
 
I was wondering if you meant driving test or drugs test for a while and was thinking she was trying to be Lance Armstrong...then you said only 2 minor faults, so I knew it couldn't be drugs.

Well done to your daughter - now more angst and worry for you every time she goes driving... Or is that just me being an over-protective mum of a teenage son who drives :oops:
 
Thanks for all your kind wishes,its just going to be a nightmare now trying to get her a car that the insurance is under £5000 :cry:
 
I pay £600 for both my 19 year old daughter and 18 year old son.

VW Polo 1.4, cheap, reliable and great for insurance.
 
I bought my 17yr old daughter a 206 1.4d and it was cheap to add her to her mothers policy on it. With direct line she builds her own NCB too.
 
Yes - you must add both yours and your (new) wife's name. Saves hundreds...
 
Be careful getting her a car that she will be the main driver of, but insuring it in someone elses name with her as a named driver......isn't this illegal now? Called "fronting"?

Must say though, adding yours/wife's name onto her own policy can save money.

I remember those days well, came home to find Beemer series 3 cabriolet brochures all over the dinning table.
.......... and yes she was serious, she wouldn't accept anything else .....

She was not impressed when I told her she could have any car she wanted, cos she would be paying :D

Dont think she spoke to me for about a month ..........

oh yes, then theres the boy ...... came in demanding a car, says "you said if I got a job I could get a car ........." hahahahha

likewise when informed that 21 hrs a month was not a job and that the "get a car" meant "could afford a car" .......

Did I miss something somewhere ? ............
What happened to turn 18, bugger off to own flat, support self ..... change ????
