I assume that there's no problem with the gate getting confused between spectators having to pay to watch the MG Car Club races and drift day attendees?
There will be a list of drivers and their guests at the gate which will give free entry, for anyone else you should get charged the normal spectator rate but might get in for free by saying you are coming for the drifting - it's usually ok but I obviously can't guarantee it.
You can see part of stage 2 from outside the gate but it is a limited view. As I said, you may be able to blag in by saying you are coming to the drifting but there is a raceday on the main circuit and they do charge for entry. There's some info HERE about entry costs and links to event info for the racing on the main track, there's a full programme of racing on so plenty to see if you do have to pay.
Sorry we can't do more but the only way round it for us would be to run on weekdays and then people have to take time off work to come and drive
I could tell you the best/safest place to bunk over the wall/fence, but when I tried posting that as a joke on the marshal's forum (in relation to marshals not being able to get in to event due to late arrival of their entry tickets) I got a PM barrage from concerned marshals & officials concerned that I would ruin the relationship with Dr Palmer
The fact that at the location I showed it would be impossible to enter and see anything (by a stagnant pond) without trundling through swamp & thorns in plain view of security was lost on them
We had a great day on Saturday with everyone getting plenty of tracktime on the drift stages, I can't find any pics of Jon but here are a few other snaps from the day -
We will be running another club driftday at Oulton on July 25th so shout up if you fancy coming along!
