So my son and I had a weekend in Wales planned. Because of atrocious weather we decided not to go in either of our zeds. Should have gone in his, because we came back to this

Whatever happened put a crease in the metal just on the strong point of the panel. So some force, but it's not on the part of the wing that is furthest out so what do you reckon caused it?
I'm thinking delivery van door or something like that.
No other marks at all. At least the rear light is ok, but could have been the other side of the car - that has a scratch on already. Guess that would be asking too much!
Any idea on likely repair costs?

Plastic bumper from a van or 4 x 4 and slow speed impact.

I'd like to make it perfectly clear I was nowhere in the vicinity and have no access to a van or 4 x 4.

Could be anything really, even a bike handle bar if the rider fell into the car on the bike. I cant really tell if the paints been scratched or not or if the "marks" I see are just reflections. If the paints OK a decent dent removal man should be able to get rid of that.

Got to be a heavy lorry type door at that height. Thats some nasty little crease. Hope you get it fixed ok. :(

Can’t see how a door or bumper has caused that deep a crease and so localised, looks to me like some sort of soft tip projectile hitting it at a hell of a velocity.

Bad luck OP, sorry it’s happened fella. :(

The marks are indeed scratches, and the metal is well and truly creased - certainly won't knock out :x

That's what I'm thinking. Maybe an open door got caught by the wind - and bang! Ironic if that's the case, as the reason we didn't go to Wales by zed was because of the torrential rain and very strong winds!

Was there a space behind the car? Possibly a failed 3 point turn from a trailer on the way to the local tip.

Get it sorted and forget it. Another who thinks it might pull out., Ever the optimist :)

Looks like a door has hit it to me. Vertical line right in the middle of the dent and above it (white in colour).

Probably van door in the wind

What a PITA. :(

That indentation looks straight and vertical - I'd go for van door in the wind as well, or maybe the corner of a van rear bumper?

Not that it matters - I just hope it isn't too painful getting it fixed.
