Had these myself. Put them on once for photo's and never used them after that  completely pointless, but definitely an improvement on the vast space left when the roof is down.

That's a ridiculous price. Ide love to know how some people come up with these crazy prices.

Anyway wouldn't be any good for us over here, those ones are for a left hand drive model

Do you need to put them on after the roof goes down? Then take them off before you put it back up?

If so then yeah pointless. Otherwise they look pretty neat to me very streamlined.

You do indeed have to put them on after the roof goes down I never go anywhere with the roof down without mine on, love them!! looks so much better than the great big hole left where the roof meets the wing literally takes Second to fit

what do you do if it starts raining though? seems like a lot of faff for nothing. people aren't going to be inspecting gaps when you have your roof down.

seem like a ridiculous concept to me

Exactly that. A ridiculous concept when you have a powered soft top.

I get in my car, out the roof down and go. No time for faffing around  I tried, but unless I'm doing mega miles without stopping anywhere, they seemed like a waste of time.

To be honest with you I don't use my car much in the wet if at all :D
But when I do use them I have a gap tech fitted in My Z so I walk towards the car the roof goes down open the boot fit them get in the car. I'm
Luck enough that it's a weekend car so only really use it on sunny days

Had a set and sold them. Waste of time as although they look good, I was always closing the roof forgetting they were fitted... Result is they bust the catches apart, rebuild and start again. Each time I put the roof up I had to put them in the bag in the boot

I can vouch for what happens when you put the roof up with the covers in place. My set is now in 3 parts. :(

I don't think anyone would deny they definitely make the back of the car look nicer
If I remember correctly I only paid 50 euros for mine got them from a dealer in Germany
It's funny how this debate about side covers comes around every six months :D you either like them or you don't

They look fantastic. The whole you need to put them on and off every time you put the roof up and down makes them useless IMO.

Here in Scotland the weather changes every time you breathe. If you didn't need to do that then they would be a no brainer very clean look.

I tried ebay, and all the BMW parts suppliers in the USA, and every source said that this part was discontinued by BMW and no longer available. I then found a dealer in Canada who was able to get them in one day and forward to me. Price was CAD 160 (approx. 80 pounds) + CAD 25. shipping. I then had to wait for spring to get the car out of storage so I could try them out. Easy to install and look great when in place, but one MUST remember to remove them before raising the roof.

Not completely - I don't tend to use mine every time but, for longer drives or shows they go on. They're helpful on the motorways too as, in covering the 'hole', they seem to help reduce cabin turbulance

I bought Ben G's  and have been using them a fair bit. My commute is 45mins to 1hr so the minute it takes to fit them is well worth it. Definitely reduces wind buffeting and looks much better. If its a short journey I often wont bother.

And aside from all that, I always knew that if I didnt like them, I could always sell them on at the same price.
