Other Z owners.....

Maybe it's partly down to me being a nice young lady

We'll be the judge of that Lucy :poke:

Interesting points raised by the OP. I wouldnt say just because some Z4 owners are not members of a car forums such as this, that they are posers or bad drivers.
And as this is a publicly viewable forum you dont need to register to obtain information from it, so there will be a number of lurkers/guests browsing around aswell.

The term 'poser' intrigues me, who would fit into that category?

People who own a Z4 - They are a poser just because they own a flash car?
People cruising in their cars around built up areas full of people craving attention?
People who regularly post pictures of their car on forums?
Or the person down the street who is constantly cleaning/polishing their car?

Would you class those who fit in the above examples as posers?

That one. I think it's just human nature. I don't think anyone here would claim they *only* bought the z4 for it's driving experience. It projects a certain image.

I say this as I had a Fiat Coupe 20vt before this, and the forum on there is busy and very very good indeed. (ok its getting a tad chavy now due to the fact the car is so cheap) Alot of enthusiasts on that site and its 10x busier than this one despite being only around 7000 coupes in the UK max

I also came from a 20vt and used the forum now and again, so I know what you're talking about. This one will become more like the Fiat Coupe one as the Z4's fall out of warrenty and become more affordable.

i think i fall in the "i like to clean my car once a week" category.

i like it looking nice and sexy. sometimes i wont wash it only because that's my way of declaring to the rest of the world..."hey.. i drive my car."

as for seeing other zeds on the road... i see a mixed amount. it depends on the neighborhood i'm in. i work in the stanford university area and i see A LOT of nice cars. even from the students! i see a few zeds.. not too many. z4m's.... don't see too many of those around actually, if at all!

the neighborhood i live in... i see more cadillacs and mercedes than anything else.

i'm the only zed within a 5 mile radius... and.. on top of that.. i dont ever see another one in my area.

and as for saying hi to other drivers.... sometimes i do.. sometimes i don't.

I have been roundel member for 20 years! Z3 owner for 9 of them and 528e for all the rest. I always wave and smile at other Z drivers and I rarely get a response! Shocking behavior, so it is universal, some are just not nice people, which is why they are never on any of our car outings! We are always having fun!

I'm in Australia and hardly see any other Z4s....Maybe one a month.

See more Z3's than Z4's. But I'm not living in the mega expensive posh inner city areas, so maybe they are all in there????

I get a lot of aggression from other drivers due to the badge/nice car. eg. Being cut off, being deliberately blocked from merging etc.

I bought the Z4 mainly for everything but the image. I'd still love it to bits and be happy to put the roof down and razz around in it if it had a Lada badge on the front!

I appreciate BMW for their engineering, not their, ultimately, rather naff image, because plenty buy them FOR the image and nothing else, their projected image is then actually only of materialistic people rather than motoring enthusiasts. Something that those who buy them for their image fail to spot...

Top down or up, I find Southern CA Z drivers, not affiliated with any local groups to be very unfriendly! My top is rarely up, cause you all know it NEVER rains in southern CA! :driving: :driving:

Not wanting to sound sad or anything but if you had Z4-Forum window stickers say like those of the disco3 website, then other friendly members would be easily identified...Problem solved you'll know who to wave at or flash

I think out of the 4 or 5 ive seen at least 3 have responded to my dbl headlight flash, I dont wave it looks stupid and I have an image to think about 8) ROFLMAO!

I got a Z4 cos I wanted somthing faster not cos I wanted to be flash or whatever and I've only ever cleaned it myself once, Id much rather go and pay some imigrants to do a really bad job.

I dont normally drive it around built up areas so as to draw attention I'd much sooner banzai into the countryside and overtake ppl like im in a race.

The driving experience is ok and it has good power but having driven an exige s I know now that is what I want, in hindsight if I wasnt as easy going with my money I could have had one...

I have a Damon Hill sticker on my hardtop, apparently he bought or at least part owned a bmw dealership, I was going to take it off but like everything else never got round to it, I decided to leave it now anyway so ppl I overtake can go who does he think he is.... lool.

He is my uncle tho so..

Dont get much response up here also, now i just look and if they look,
i just smile,as for imigrants washing my car,no chance,no one
washes my car but me,not even my ex..
