My arm chair judgement based on media gossip and other non factual information:

He shot through the door in a fit of anger and accidentally killed her.

Any other takers or alternatives ? 8)
 
i think he is bullying control freak...

I dare say they had an argument,and in a fit of childish anger he shot her when she sought shelter.He is just trying to save his hide,and the crocodile tears dont fool me at all.

Guilty of murder without a shadow of a doubt..
 
Killed her in a fit of rage, absolutely no doubt.

Mind you, with enough cold hard cash spent on bribery, he'll probably walk. (obviously he'll need his legs back).
 
best case scenario...he's an Idiot who thought there was an intruder and shot through a door without checking first :headbang:
worst case, he's a stupid hot blooded murderer , either way he should do time !!

They asked about another occasion with his ex when he thought he heard an intruder. Made a point of it as he woke her up when he thought someone was in the house.

I think they had had an argument and she was either in the bathroom or had gone in there to get away from him and he shot through the door in a rage or to scare her. I don't think he intended to kill her but seriously, you shoot a gun blindly through a door without any consideration she was behind it?

Hope he gets locked up for a long time.

He shot 4 bullets, 3 hit her - he knew what he was doing

"Pistorius fired four times and she was hit three times, in the head, arm and hip."

He intended to kill her!
 
His defence doesn't stack up - even if it is true public need protected from his lack of respect for what a firearm can deliver
 
If you were( supposedly )in bed with someone and you thought you heard something in your house, would you not at least tell them to stay where they are should you wish to investigate ? I think at the very least I would ask my better half if she had heard anything.

He really needed to take a dump and she wouldn't get out the chuffing bathroom.

He's more than likely guilty but will be interested to see the outcome.

That’s exactly what I thought; I think all the evidence is showing that he has an ‘anger’ issue

Comes across as a big headed, arrogant A grade arsehole, of course you check that its not your other half in the bog before you shoot through the door. I hope he gets life, but he probably won't. Life seems to be incredibly cheap in what appears to be a beautiful country turned into a toilet.
 
Interesting case and interesting views from you guys. What is different here from the OJ case is it's a judge only trial. In the UK we are use to public opinion pressure and in the OJ case we saw the manipulation of a jury. In SA is a single judge with two (in this case) appointed helpers. In theory this will avoid the emotional manipulation we saw in the OJ case. This judge has a reputation for "making a point" so he is unlikely to get off easily. Secondly public opinion is (so far) against him, so locking him up would not be a difficult decision.

I think he will do time. I don't think it'll be a maximum though but I do think it'll be somewhat harder than doing time in the UK!

Interesting to see how this plays out, but don't judge the case on how things go in the UK and the USA... SA is very different!
