I don't think there is a short answer except to increase intelligence and keeping tabs on individuals and groups likely to carry out these attacks. Where there is evil there is always good and these people and organisers will be caught in the end. There is talk in the USA of relaxing gun laws rather than clamping down the argument being at least people can defend themselves, unsure about that as many of these tragedies have been carried out by a local person.

Might sound harsh, but if the US continue to allow 'easy' access to guns, then you kind of have to expect this type of thing to happen. Is it a surprise, unfortunately not really.

3 million registered guns in America... If they banned them they wouldn't dissapear... They would simply be pushed onto the black market.
We have easy access to knives but I can't remember the last time a guy walked into a nightclub and stabbed a load of people shouting ISIS rubbish.
Sad situation but the answer in my opinion is eliminating IS and not the control of weapons

RE: the Orlando shooting, CNN just described something I've never thought of - as investigators are inside the nightclub, where many of the bodies are still where they fell, they have to tune out the nightmarish sound of all of the deceased phones' ringing constantly as loved ones try to reach them.

I understand when people say that regulation wouldn't stop people like this getting hold of weapons when the abundance is so overwhelming. But surely 'Do nothing' isn't the answer either!?
It is very sad and I don't really understand it on so many levels.
I guess the NRA would argue that if everyone there had guns then he might have been shot earlier, therefore Americans need more guns. America is so backwards with guns and gun crime. You have to start somewhere, and the sooner they do, the sooner this sort of tragedy will be a thing of the past.

It's a little staggering that a developed country like the US feels it's their right to have 300 million guns in circulation, then are stunned by the tragedy that occurs once a year.... :roll:
