So just had a new water pump fitted on my 2.5si it was going to be with the thermostat but when the mechanic went to fit part of the plastic connector was damaged and had broken off! Anyway he refitted the old stat with the new pump as I had read that the old original thermostats were metal and the one he took off was plastic. Hopefully it had been replaced at some point. I am also struggling to return the faulty stat to AUTODOC who supplied it. Out of interest this is the water pump that was taken off can anyone tell if it’s original or had been changed at some point.
