Hi guys..won some CSL alloys on ebay.

Problem is after winning I asked the buyer a few questions on the phone it seems they don't past the Original CSL test :(

There wider at the rear yes.
They DON'T have BMW stamped on the front
They DON'T have BBS stamped on the inside.

But he reckons there 2 phases

Apprently Fuchs produced them before bbs he saying? reckons the bmw colchester checked there original with the parts numbers for him..but i know Good relicas have Part numbers on the front aswell.. but they don't have bmw on the front and don't have little M badges..

I know there was a thread that explained it well as some guy purchased a z4 from bmw with fake CSL's? Can't find the thread tho .. DOH! :(

Any help guys,Don't wanna pay stupid money for replicas when i can buy a brand new set with new tyres for the same amount.... :/

Any help guy's?

if in doubt i would walk away.

if someone on here doesnt answer you could try ringing the dealer, although they might not now details like that.

get in writing/email that they are the genuine article so that you are covered if it turns out that they are not

Are they wheels & tyres, or just wheels, and how much did you win them for?
If they've got cheap tyres on them then they're probably fake (after all who puts £200 worth of s**t tyres on £2k's worth of alloys).
If you paid £400 for them, then they're worth that much whether they're fake or not.

Do you have a link?

I've not heard of the 2 phases - considering the car was only made for about a year anyway - and BMW only lists one part number each for the fronts & rears.

No-one I know who's got CSL wheels, or an M3 CSL have anything other than the BBS/BMW stamped ones.

£875... and i gotta travel over 100 miles this weekend to get them. Not exactly cheap..Top quailty relicas can been had for £550-600 without tyres... (wider rears,m badges, part numbers etc)For original CSL's with rubbish tyres and scuff's they went for "resonable" money...not cheap enuff to buy if there relicas no way.His rating is good and on the phone and in text's he seems to know his stuff. :(

There's no markings at all on the front, just the insert for you to put your little ///M badge - which he's not bothered doing.

Don't know why he's listed them as 'limited edition' because they're not, and 'hyper black' just means he's either had the refurbed or bought them that way.

He may have bought them as genuine himself and now realises they're not, and so is trying to pass them off to some other unsuspecting punter.

If he's so sure they're Fuchs wheels (and BMW do use Fuchs as one of their wheel suppliers - and for the standard M3 wheel, but not the CSL/ZHP wheel), then they'll have a Fuchs stamp on them - and I can't see the CSL style wheel in the Fuchs online catalogue.

He just said the M badges where removed in the refurbed process....

Dunno..Seems there not original no-one on here ever heard of Fuch CSL alloys..and there's quite a few people on here with them... :(

Guys i'm scared to say i don't want em...this guy's adamant there real ... so he's gonna think i'm just pulling out the deal for no reason :( Gonna leave me bad feedback

I'd say they are worth the money if they are CSLs but there is enough doubt to suggest you walk away. As long as the wheels are not buckled, even wheels for refurbishment have gone for more than these but if they turn out to be replicas - they will be virtually worthless. You are better paying more for wheels which you can be assured of as being genuine.

I agree..don't think people realise how expensive Genuine CSL alloys are...there 1000ATLEAST without tyres ..1300-1400 with half decent rubber..at 875..was a good price :(

But for relicas it's a joke lol and i will loose £500 instantly ...

I think the question was whether they would fit on a non M. You have an M ...
