Money is not an issue, the final mod project hits nearly 12k in March and that still leaves my engine swap etc so 1k is nothing in the mix of things, besides there wont be another Zed on the road ur see like it. :D

How have you got 12k mods? Taking out serviceable parts?

I've done the usual aesthetical mods and mine isnt a fraction on your cost.

But thats a fair question on insurance... If you change your roof red do you need to declare it?

Yes 12k is a hell of a lot of money :o - Does this include the purchase price of the car?

I was actually thinking about how much yours would have cost to mod with the multiple seats, multiple exhausts, retrimming seats, dash colouring etc - and even yours couldnt have amounted to this.

Outside of engine mods 12K for aesthetics is crazy dedication.

I have done some trading with parts so have managed to knockdown the overall price somewhat

But if I roughly added up all the mods - bumpers, quad exhaust, skirts, seats, headlights, steering wheel, satnav screen, head unit, strut brace, alloys, rear lights etc It would be around £4,000 but as mentioned above the true cost would be around £2500 as I have sold on seats, headlights and a few other items to recoup some money

Out of curiosity more then anything else i have worked out in mods on my car i have spent £4625 :o
(wheels- excl tires (1300), winter wheels - excl tires (255), aero skirts (500),fbumper (500), rbumper (300),exhaust (900),pedals (50),strut brace (160),illuminated sills (60),intravee (150), Eibachs (300), badges (50), gaptech (100)

Plus on top my insurance has been over £100 more each year because of the above.

It crazy how these can all add up - i was expecting my total to be maybe £2k  well thats whats the wife thinks

I guess its hit and miss - example being I paid £400 for my m alloys with 1000 mile old non RFT tyres and a bit less than you for the bumper + respray

saying that I haven't added intravee and roof module to the list - either way its no more than 5k before I take away money from parts I have sold

Mod list comes to £11,265.....remember alot of work im having done not myself, example the rear quad will cost me £1247 this is for fitment, whole new exhaust system and M rear bumper!
No reason for me to tell porky pies is there.

It's not that - we are just wondering why it's twice as much as others who have the same or more mods?

I have spent 5k so far and all are new parts and 95% jobs done for me

If your car is your pride and joy and a keeper price does not come into it.

Had you changed your car every 3 years the depreciation cost would have been more.

Mine too is a keeper and summer weekend toy I won't be going as far as you as I want to keep mine near to original but it will get within reason whatever it needs. Just be a little inventive with the truth when explaining to her indoors

Could have bought an ///M for £6k and your 2.0i

Scared to sit down and calculate. What I've spent. Mods:
Individual interior - M seats, dash, door cards etc
Custom wheels
M front bumper (not fitted yet)
M steering wheel
De ginger (front, sides and rear lights)
CDV delete
Gap Tech
Aux input on stereo
Lowered - springs. Paid to have them fitted & alignment

Still need to get my M bumper fitments and get it on the car.

Don't think I've spent more than £2k on that lot :?

If you're serious about getting an engine upgrade, there's no point in getting a new quad exhaust until you get the new engine as, strictly speaking, the exhaust will need to be changed again to match the engine

No offence but get you calculator out and add it up, ur steering wheel alone new is around £400.

Except I didn't buy it new :poke:

Sure I could price the cost of all my mods "new", but that's not what I've spent on them

Plus I've never wanted to keep tabs on how much I've spent...

I think you have made a great choice with the dark red roof on a silver z. You will be in a very select club

That makes me happy seeing this, because of the huge smile the car must put on your face

Some people spend that on drugs, or gambling in a few months. As others have pointed out, if you bought a brand new high end car you would have lost that amount just driving out of the showroom.

Good for you Jonny, you got the car you love and its totally unique to you.
