Orange oil icon

After a 100 mile journey as I went to turn the engine off the dash beeped and the oil lamp illuminated orange and remained on when the key was removed ?

It went out when I restarted the engine but why did it come on ?

If it comes on as you're turning the engine off I think it means you're getting towards the minimum amount of oil so should top up at the next convenient point... It's not dangerously low or below the minimum hence why it doesn't come on as you're driving, but its more of a heads up.

Quickest way is to check your oil level and see how it's looking on the dipstick, then add a bit more... 5w30 fully synthetic iirc.
