What's everyone's thoughts on this. According to it's MOT history it has a slight oil leak from the diff. Is this a biggy?

absolutely not unless its cracked - most likely the sump plug has been over tightened and squashed the seal - new plug 15 quid

Ok, that's reassuring. What about the car in general.........price, mileage etc.........does it look like a good buy?

Get a view on the service history and maintenance records and post on here....it'll give you a better view on things.

slight leak could just be the seals. they perish and need replacing, pretty straight forward and not unusual for the age of these cars.

Always hard to tell from the advert. Headlights need a polish. Seems a decent car. Worth taking a proper look at the service history and then go take a look and a good long test drive.

Looks a fair car for for fair money , showing the usual signs of wear on steering wheel controls but then which 70k E85 E86 isn't?
Front tyres also look well down though discs look ok ( they are pricey so a bonus there :) )
With these now being 12 13 yr old you really need to view them to appraise them properly & more importantly hear how they start & tickover
With regard your question directly as Tom rightly points out signs of oil around the diff seals is not a major issue to sort (£250ish ) but its something to be wary of if you viewed it as there is a difference between a misting of oil which is pretty normal on these to a weeping where there is oil showing on the floor .
Keep us posted how you get on , only around 55 Ti silver ZMRs in Uk so a pretty rare car

What about the Red roadster for sale on this forum similar price and much less mileage and looks better nick although a 56 plate.

More likely the input or output seals need changing.

Thanks for the input guys. I've emailed them and asked for service info. Will try and get a look at it at the weekend. Is there anything else particular to the M car that I should be looking out for? A question for Mr Wilks.......I have 437 replicas on my current E89. Would they fit the M? Will have a look at the red one on here. The reason I was particularly interested in this one is it's only about 18 miles or so from me.

Just checked out the red one. Very nice example but at the other end of the country and I would need to sell mine first.

Can't say 100% on the wheel fit without knowing the exact numbers but ZMs & 89s are similar so guessing your 437reps are around et38 & 8.5j 9.5j id say highly likely they would

If your able to sell yours, I’m looking to let mine go soon. 58 plate Silver Grey with 65K on it. New tyres/brakes and insp1 £14K would take it with custom back boxes and the standard ones. - Glasgow

Went to look at it today and straight away noticed the front and rear bumpers have been painted at some point and not very well  Needless to say I walked away.

That's a shame but good choice, if it's not 100% when you buy it, it'll niggle you after, keep looking
