Opinions please: Wheels and colours

Snags with black wheels is that every single tiny scratch and nick let alone kerb rash shows really clearly and looks awful.
I have seen people using these new wheel rim protector strips which might help I guess

So, graphite wheels, mirrors and indicators. Yes mmmmm! black and yellow always works, wasps know this. Not like white and black too stark. But white and graphite looks softer and more sophisticated.lmo.

Black makes wheels ‘look’ smaller, not a fan of black wheels personally but I do think they can look ok on white and silver cars.

Quoting myself here as I’ve had a complete change of opinion on this, I think black wheels can actually look great on a black car now, or a brightly coloured or light/white car. They don’t look anywhere near as good in photo’s as in real life though.

I’m not so sure of black against other dark colours though, like dark blue / dark grey.

I have decided silver, where I take it to be done is a good bloke. Will post some piccys when it's done.

No kerbing, the clear coat over the machined outer face was starting to deteriorate, i had a go at dressing it up but made things 100 times worse
I’ll save the kerb damage for after they’ve been painted

That seems to be the issue with ‘cut’ wheels the lacquer lifts at the edges?

They were starting to get “snail trails” where stone chips had let the weather underneath i suspect, it looked a bit nasty but my diy resuscitation effort turned them into much worse scabby things

Can’t wait to see the outcome… booked mine in too, in May. Sticking with shadow chrome, just a better quality finish. That said, it’s against black not white. Having added a silver, it convinced me to stick with a darker finish (popular consensus too)

So finally the car is booked in for the alloy refurb.... still have the dilemma A) silver B) black or C) dark charcoal grey (a BMW colour)? :slaphead:
This colour
I've often thought of black wheels on my cars, always end up with graphite. Not sure what BMW calls this colour though

I finally went for a dark grey, I think its called orbit grey (BMW colour) they look dark until the sun hits them
