Opening boot from inside car - button missing

Hi. Despite having my G29 for some time now I've just learned from the handbook that the boot can be opened from within the car via a button in the driver's side door storage bin.

Except I can't - I have no button, just a blanking plate. Do any of you have a button?

It would be handy when picking up passengers (since there's no interior space). I know I can do it from the key but it's a pain to dig around in pockets.

Just thought it was an odd thing to leave out at build time.

When I had my g29 it also just had a blanking plate.

Just unlock the car using the button and that unlocks boot too so passenger can open boot from outside.
I did that all the time when picking my boy up from school so he could dump his school bag in the boot.

Thanks for confirming, Ori. It's a pain cos I use comfort access and the car doors just unlock when I get near (not boot), so I never normally press any buttons. Oh well. Guess I'll just live with it.

You can program boot to unlock too. Just walking up to the boot will unlock it.

As I said just hit the unlock button inside the car if picking up a passenger.

TBH. I hate passengers slamming my boot and prefer to do it myself. ;)

My understanding is that the button was only fitted to left hand drive cars

I've already said that the button wasn't fitted to RHD cars so we don't really need a succession of people all claiming that it isn't fitted to theirs

Ian, I don’t think I’ve got one either, I’ll need to check when I’m next in it :poke:

Ian, I've got a button, but there's no car round it. :poke: :D

This reminds me of the mythical magical button that women are supposed to have. I’ve never found it. :(

I wish that I hadn't started this now :fuelfire:

I think there’s a wee button in the drivers storage bin that if you press it it doesn’t open the boot but makes time go backwards :tumbleweed:
Andy did you press it and find yourself sitting in a silver 23i
