I have never opened the bonnet. The salesman opened it to show me when the car was handed over but it has stayed clamped shut since then. It looked pretty boring a load of black plastic.

A great example why I never like buying second hand cars

Tim.

Thanks. The car is a year old and I have a free day tomorrow. If I open the bonnet what should I do?

That can't be a serious question surely?

 Live on the edge mate just open it for fun :poke: :poke:

There is always the chance to top up the washer fluid - second thoughts you may want to leave that to the dealer lol

Washer fluid seems to be endless I have never had to top up but I guess I could check the level. There is no dipstick so other than checking a squirrel hasn't nested in there or admiring the engine that's about it.

Mines dressed and polished weekly during the summer months, it would do my head in if I knew it was dirty :)

Just to remind you what the engine looks like

At least knowing its clean and safe offsets the payments while you don't use it :poke:

True but when I buy it off BMW I know the cars history and will be as good as new and a cheap buy :)

Is that a foam door protector on the right?

Yes Andy, I did get one of those door protectors for the house below but it was a bit pants so replaced it softer seating foam,

This thread probably tops the 'most anal thread' chart. :headbang: :poke:

Not at all, some members are more enthusiastic (OCD) about their cars than others and like to talk about it  :)

= Obsessive compulsive depreciation. Having a non classic car in the garage unused for half a year while its value plummets.

No difference really to your Zed being used and it's value plummeting at a greater rate with higher mileage and wear and tear . Luckily I have the luxury of 2 Zeds to play with  :D
