Glad to hear you escaped unscathed! I experience a blow out whilst driving my dads Mondeo estate at 70mph.
He had left it sitting for a few weeks after breaking his leg and the n/s rear tyre had gone down, but I didn't check it and it let go in quite spectacular fashion!
Needless to say I did an F1 style wheel change on the side of the road whilst huge lorries bombed past. Brown pants moment indeed.
As you can see, by the time I got the car to a stop, the entire sidewall had come apart from the alloy.
