Greetings from SoCal.
Darn it! my vinyl wrapped interior started to get some odd bubbles here and there... very annoying. So stripped and shipped the plastic bits plus dashboard & console to Thailand for some serious CF treatment. This is the first lot, dash and console to follow in a few weeks. Really excited to get the already great cockpit looking even better! the company i used are the suppliers to those Rip off merchants CA Automotive. Even with shipping, the parts have been about 60% cheaper! check out the photos... :o

They look amazing. Great job. What was the company and rough cost for the job? Did you have to wait long?

marksdesigns, looks good - I was going to try skinning myself but didn't get around to buying a spare set of plastics. I reckon this is going to look awesome - skinning gives a proper carbon look (as it is).

Are they taking it back much before applying the CF?

Is that a 2/2 twill and were there any other options?

Gorgeous! Have the same questions as most of those already posted. I hope they're REALLY REALLY eexpensive and so far out if my budget that I can forget about copying this cos if they're only kinda dear I can feel another big chunk coming out of next months paypacket. I say this cos they certainly don't look cheap!

I am sure they will look seriously cool fitted, let us have a look when you have completed

thanks for the comments as always.. ok, in reply to you all - here goes.... from the top....

Sirwacko: they are CF laminated, the original layer has to be rubbed down a bit, then primed or something, so its a nice flat and even surface etc. due to the tabs etc on the back it was cheaper to just do a face-plate lamination in CF rather than mould the whole thing. yeah, i know, the whole point is that it saves weight... but most of the porsche interior stuff is like this anyway - and the look is all important - right?

Sirwacko: Company is called NVD Autosports and they supply loads of places, one that you can have a look at the CF goodies online is CA Automotive. (and check their prices!)

Inkey$ : it takes about 2weeks to do an order such as this lot.

pawnsacrifice: as above, and the twill - you have 2 options of Cf 'twill' design, or in silver or red.

Imp75: its not cheap, but its not mental, gear surround $150, elec switches, $110 pair, dash is $245, centre console is $150, headlight surround dash $45, door handles $225..... and on.... and on....
... oh and shipping was $85.

tdz840: nope, didnt get a customs bill. yet.

Koolchris99: NVD Autosports is the company, www.nvdautosport.com they are in Bangkok. probably some drugged up ladyboys who did the work on my stuff.

will post more as i get it back.

I know vaguely where that is, I'll ask my bro to go ask next weekend about a discount, I reckon you can get it a bit cheaper if you haggle out there!

I might get my front grills done

cool, let me know as im gonna be sending some more stuff over soon... might get a bargain deal with a load of parts.

It may be worth checking with local body / paint shops also - chatting to Chris at Imagination Creations (outside Reading) about CF and he's done some carbon skinning before.

Otherwise, if any of you fancy having a go yourselves, Carbon Mods - Carbon Fibre Skinning Starter Kit
There are some good guides on there too.

While I haven't used the skinning kit myself, carbon fibre is relatively easy to work with, the main problem is not separating the weave.

Actually, looking at their FAQs there is a link through to a company in the UK that does skinning, may be worth pricing up?

I know that the Z is fairly low volumr but why is it so hard to get decent real CF bits for it : Hood, front wings, proper front splitter. It seems most of it comes from the USA. How about our German forum members? Any decent tuning bits out there that are "homegrown"? :?

They can provide LPG kits?
