Just with them being 19s you might need narrower tyres as sars suggested. They may scrub the arches with 255s all round. I'm not an expert though

aagggr .... well I suppose I have to test them out :( did not really think about that ... so it may rub the arch I guess then, if say on full lock?

Your front offset is 47 and your new wheels are 35, this means that they will be 12mm further out (this might be a little bit if a problem) that said the inside edge of the wheel will be 18mm further in. If you change the fronts to 235's then they will be just right

Offset of 35 isnt a problem on a 8.5 wheel. but 255 wide at the front WILL be.

I have 235/35 on an 8.5 et40 front wheel and i think it must rub at full lock uneven roads.. as i found a bit of my wheel liner with scuffs.

personally with hindsight i would have got 225/35 front tyres.

Also with 255 wide you should get 30 profile on 19's.... 255/30/19... or even better for the rear 265/30/19.

Or if you want to go for the same size all around then 235/35/19...

I dont want to be the bearer of bad news but your tyres are totally the wrong size

I not sure what to do now... there brand new tyres all round??? so the backs are fine front are not ...... so what your saying is I will need new front tyres... ball arch, not sure if I should buy them now :? could get expensive

Well bought them the alloys were really mint and are of gen BBS alloys which I was pleased to see as at the price I paid was unsure if reps. Anyway just wanted to confirm is ok to have 255 at the rear and 235 at the front? or should I change to 235 all round.

It has 4 brand new Avon ZZ5 which are 255's so I reckon I should just sell them on... :?

Thanks for everyones help as always

Chuck 235s on the front and you'll be sorted

Avon ZZ5 are decent rubber (better than the ZZ3s they replace), I have them on mine :)

Ideal thanks should get decent bucks for the old ones... well hopfully p.s they defo rub!!! 255 at the front put it on the car and move it about 10 yards... yep rub :o :P

Have you had a good look to check that 1cm extra clearance each side will be enough? Maybe best check before buying new rubber to be on the safe side?

Saying that... there are always things you can do to 'create' extra room around the wheel arches if you need it

Keep the 255's on the rear as your MV2 are 8.5 as well, so no difference apart from the offset, replace the front with 235's and sell them on here and you might break even.

However before you spend further money, trial fit them to make sure they don't rub on the wheel arches because of the offset reduction

I was going to check the rears tomz night just picked them up and only really tested the front so will check it to make sure there ok, hopefylly they will be :| but will update.... they are soooo nice cannot wait and they look massive compared to the mv2

Unless you have mistyped this... or i have misread it... 255/35/19 on the rears are not right either. :?

you would need 255/30/19.. 35 profile are too tall... even for an M car... if your car isnt lowered they would fit the arches.. as there is a massive clearance.. however with the increased rolling diameter your speedo will be out, but more importantly it will effect your cars acceleration :(

:( .... what is the correct tyres I need all round then? 255/30/19 rears and 235/30/19 at the front? , my car is not lowered and I do not plan to at this stage... if I need to sell all 4 then so be it

imo as your wheels are all 8.5 then personally i would get 235/35 all around... the ideal rear size would be 265/30 (as it would with <1% out from stock) 255/30 being slightly less and 265 being slight more...however it might be pushing it trying to fit a 265 on a 8.5 rim.

Also getting the same size tyres all around might work out cheaper... Cosco often have offers like buy 4 tyres pay for 2 etc. not to mention the price difference..

Taking some eagle F1's as an example.. each they are:

£174.30 235/35/19
£236.20 255/30/19
£237.30 265/30/19

Comparing side by side there is very little noticeable width difference between a 235 and 265 tyre.

Forgot to mention with 235/35 up front put the wheels on full lock and drive in a circle with the windows down... to listen for any rubbing.. sadly mine have minor rubbing near the bulb hatch on the front... but then my offset is et40... so yours sticking out that little bit more will prob be ok.

Ok thanks aquazi I look into this may need to sell all four then?

Do you if the difference is massive on speedo / accerlation etc

yeah.. but once fitted it will be worth it...nothing beats the looks of 19's  ... more so on a coupe to detract your eyes from the roof  :P
