Only one thing left that defines my car as a 35is?

Folks like that end up buying things like Mazda 626s..
Don't 'dis' the Mazdas. Great cars (although ours has just developed a weird fault with a parking sensor). :D

I think I’ve now removed everything that would have defined the car as a 35is

Dare I ask at what cost :poke:

Is that?

How much have I spent in total?

Or

How much did I spend getting rid of 35is parts? :tumbleweed:

I was thinking marital , you have a very understanding wife :D
Seriously though the total cost for all the mods you’ve done to it, and man maths don’t count.

[ref]B21[/ref], I know you probably have it planned already, but have you seen he ID4 motion dash for the E89? They don't make it for the E85 but has some very nice features? You can change it daily to keep your modifying needs satisfied :fuelfire:

Hi, yes I looked at it..it doesn't actually present any more data than you can already get with the OE system plus it doesn't play nicely with MHD which I use for tuning..

35i was imbued with the same wonderful colour

So what car is it now then. If not a modified 35IS ?

It’s a subtle point that probably missed many by..the discussion was, was it worth paying a premium for a 35is over a 35i..?

There was a list of differences..the only one now is the speedo with 35is monogrammed on..

A-haa, the subtle details.

I had owned my ///MR three years before I realised one day the bonnet was different to the standard E85. :o After that I made a point of learning the differences and was amazed just how different the ///M was. :D

Quite ..in the minutiae of the E89 micro world at one point much hot air was expended on the god like position of the 35is.

I provoked some perturbation by arguing it was just a marketing warm over of the 35i…

The 35is got a monogrammed speedo, monogrammed car mats, some tacky grey plastic strips across the lower front grills, a noisier exhaust and a mild re-map..

When I was looking for an AY N54 powered E89 I’d have happily bought a 35i, however there wasn’t one around as AY was a very limited production run..
