One very happy new owner with a couple of questions...

Evening everyone,

After years of dreaming I finally took the plunge and picked up my new pride and joy a couple of weeks ago, 56 plate 2.0 sport in silver grey and I LOVE IT! Nearly done 1000 miles already, you got to love the hot weather :D

Just wondering if anyone has added a Parrot MKi9200 to their roadster? Is it worth the investment, even just for the IPod connectivity? I don't have bluetooth at present and the one (& only!) thing I miss from my dull Focus.

Secondly, my CD player has swallowed a CD...hard to believe, but when the radio was switched off I changed a CD over and then when I tried to play it it said no disc was there! I have managed to play other CDs, which means that I now have 2 CDs in the unit when it's playing! Never come across this in any other car before, so wondering if there was any help out there?

Here's to many years of finally enjoying driving again!

Hi and welcome, I have a parrot 3200 which works fine, ipod through a dension interface although I believe there are one or two on here with the 9200.

Regarding the CD I would take it back to the dealer and get it sorted under warranty (assuming you have a warranty), but are you sure the disc is still in there?

Welcome and congratulations on your new pride and joy - looks lovely! And well done on joining the exclusive 2.0 owners club

I'm in the same situation as you - was considering getting the Parrott kit for my car although was put off by the fact that it involved having a couple of plasticky looking components stuck on to the dashboard. After speaking to some different people and getting opinions on here, I've decided to go for this Alpine headunit http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/..._productId_770541_langId_-1_categoryId_165474

It has Parrott bluetooth tech built in and also ipod/iphone connectivity through a cable which goes from the back of the unit to your glovebox. Only downside is it does away with the OEM look of the original headunit but that's something I'm willing to live with! Halfords also seems to be the cheapest I've found for it so far.
