Ah well, no sequential box means I’ve got a fraction more of a chance of keeping up with you on your visit

Friendly banter incoming....
andy youve got a serious car their, but if it can keep up with this old girl, ill be suprised but i may be wrong.... 527hp, 1410kg and i can hussle this sucker around. scalped GT3s with ease in this one on the track against the clock and was top of the modified sprint class for 1 year , true supercar levels of performance, and the handling and stopping are top tier.

Even quicker now without the dreads reducing the wind drag to Scania truck levels...... :poke:

hows the UUC SSK , whas good, what bad?
Nothing special if I'm being brutally honest. I've not regretted getting it as its still an improvement but it's not a night and day difference... Throw is a bit shorter maybe 30% less but the shifter play is as stock and I really wish it was reduced but that needs an aftermarket DSSR.

Being out here it's not cost effective to just buy one and see if it fits because as reported on Zpost sometime along the line they changed our OEM DSSR shape but it's not specified in parts lists and if you get an aftermarket one it's simply chance if it fits or not...

How about a Samsonas gear box

Frank Kelly runs one

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMTiLDT_Zw0

When I ran a sequential dog box in my Westfield

I had a pull me push me gear shift

I manually adjusted the engine on off load with my foot on the accelerator pedal

The next step is a strain gauge switch to cut the spark to change gear you do not use the clutch on the way up but better to use in on the way down

the poor mans ignition cut switch is the rev limiter

In Franks videos he explains it very well

As you have found out paddle shift on the wheel is complex

Well set up and gear changes at full throttle are half a second

Ratios or gear speed max speed 50mph to 60mph in first and an additional 15ish mph in each gear going up the box

Friendly banter returning………..

You’re too used to driving on these bloody big wide roads or strips and tracks, the sh!tty Argyll roads will be a bit of a leveller, as,I,said, I’m only trying to keep up, no bloody pass you :poke:

Yeah it's abit wild on the narrow stuff .. this one needs space but I'll give it a good go 😁.

Then a clean straight line up 40 - 130 on a quiet mway.

Love this honestly..... Apparently the auto solutions kit is epic but sometimes I wonder of its buyers over gas. As the design seemed incredibly close to the stock piece. Literally metal bushing in the stock shifter would make a huge diff.

I installed an Autosolutions SSK with a small reduction in throw (around 10-15%) and it felt really good: direct, mechanical and solid. However, I had some resonance that resulted in some unpleasant sounds. Ronald from Autosolutions was super helpful, corresponding via email for months while I tried various things (changing transmission fluid with friction modifier, swapping Vibratechnics engine mounts back to new stock mounts, changing to fresh OE gearbox mounts). In the end he custom made new lower density shift arm bushings, but nothing worked. So, I uninstalled the SSK and refreshed all parts of the stock shifter. It's not as nice as the Autosolutions kit but it isn't bad (and quite a bit better than when I bought the car, even though the car only has around 30,000 km on it). If I could have the SSK without the resonant sounds, I would choose it in a heartbeat over the stock shifter.

So many heart breaker posts in this thread ..... 🤣🤣 Once again really appreciate the honesty.... Wonder how many others are having this but again not reporting the real side effects .

If you don't mind , how u pleasant were the sounds ?? What exactly was you hearing ??

^^^ i have ASSK and it does vibrate at high rpm, but I don’t find it too disturbing. I prefer a nice shifter action, but my car is already louder with stiffer suspension, remus exhaust and CSL airbox

oh mannnnn....... crazy how many don't report this .

how bad is it ? not sure i can accept that from a SSK

stand alone ecu is easily do-able, and would be the cheaper part of this gig. Sequential would be amazing in this car, but as youve no doubt found out, the costs sky rocket! Would love to see you do this :) *BUT* am way more glad to read the zero spread part man, you had me worried there for a while.

I made a thread about the noises on zpost:

https://www.zpost.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1678084

For some, the noises may be tolerable but they were too much for me. Really detracted from the fun of driving the car. If you have other noises as well (poly bushings, race-type camber plates, etc) maybe it would become just one of many mechanical noises? I have a private video on Youtube of it (used it to share with Ronald at AS), so I could send you the link, noting that this was with a lapel mic attached the shifter boot, so it sounds worse than in RL, but does illustrate the nature of the noises.

I've had the UUC SSk for 5 years or so installed, no additional noise and a definite improvement from stock imo. I have no desire to go to a cae type which in my brief experience reduces the feel somehow of the manual change.

the CAE type shifters do NOT feel great, very bling and look good, but the change imo is horrendous... when cold i couldnt a 2-3 at all.....
