One day of sunshine . . . .

Since Porthoz collected his new Zed we've been trying to arrange a hoon for all '4 Muskateers' but the period of poor weather has hindered our best laid plans. Steph and I couldn't get out this Monday and so we took the window of opportunity offered by the forecast bright calmer weather before storm Abigail hit, to get out. Even then, a change of plans meant that Cherrym had to drop out the night before and that left Portoz and yours truly.

Glad we got out, the weather kept improving all day and with just the pair of Zeds, overtakes could be despatched as one and we were lucky with fairly clear roads and very little on-coming traffic. Portoz set a safe but spirited pace and I was content to take in a nicer view than trying to see around the big blue backend of his previous GolfR  Sodden leaves and shaded tight bends called for a little finesse on the throttle but it didn't spoil the fun and (yawn, yawn, sorry to keep going on about it :( ) we've got some terrific roads up here - we had a brilliant time of it! :driving:

Portoz also took us on a new road which offered plenty of mid speed and tight bends and great sight lines - with some lovely picturesque backgrounds, bridges and hamlets we'll definitely be visiting this road again.

As per the usual, photos can't do any justice to the roads or vistas - we do our best. :(

Looks like you had the best of the weather Paul, I can't believe how quiet the roads were, nice one and thanks for sharing :driving:

We tend to stay off the busier routes and I guess mid week, midday and winter all help

Don't tell too many people about it though - I was really shocked when we had difficulty parking at Seahouses for our Coast and Castles run this year - so sshhhhhhh :(

Haven't seen much daylight with being stuck in this darn kitchen but looks a good day and I must say that last picture you posted looks hellish.

Oh yes Taz - takes a downpour for our roof to go up

Hi Craig - hoping to do something on Monday for you mate - weather looks ok at the moment - you free?

Great to see some one getting out topless in between the crap weather we've had the past week or so. 8)

Had the pleasure of a leisurely drive down Cheddar Gorge, towards sunset, on my way home from a workshop up that way today 8) . Alas it was in an Astra hire car, not a open top Zed.

Well another day and another drive through our fantastic countryside. Once again it proved to be a throughly enjoyable experience. The weather gods were on our side which of course made the drive so much more enjoyable, can't believe it has taken me 43 years to really appreciate what we have on our doorstep, in the Z ,roof down of course, that enjoyment increases greatly.
So roll on our next outing hopefully with a few more forumites , drive safe .
Thanks again Paul .
