On my way - at last!!!

Hi fellow Zed Owners,

Well, at long last I'm on my way home to Andalusia, Spain. Writing this email onboard the ferry to Santander having driven down to Portsmouth from the Wirral, Merseyside. Super drive down and the longest drive I've done since buying it, last July. Can't believe it'll be 10-years old next March - it's German engineering at its very best. It will be quite unique where I live in Spain, only a Z3 around, I believe.

Am looking forward to seeing average speed and MPG when I arrive. And the lovely Autovias in Spain should be a dream to drive on.

Adios, Amigos.

Thanks guys, just settled into our hotel South of Madrid. Done 650 odd miles so far. Andy, the wheels and tyres are performing great - Spanish motorways are soooooo good. Not yet decided on the name for the English Breakfast place, yet! Perhaps you could help out with some snappy suggestions NOT!!!! Much too lazy for that.

Cheers.

Guess you mean Wirral, Andy. Nice area both my daughters live there. Now arrived at my destination at 3 p.m. Today. Just short of the 1,000 mile trip over. Ferry crossing was calm thank goodness. Car never missed a beat and attracted some admiring eyes. We were loaded up to the hilt - who said it is a tiny boot? We managed a large soft bag packed full, a medium soft case and lots and lots of stuff stuffed around these. Also packed behind both seats. Our day car is a Seat Ibiza and I would say the boot is much of a muchness. Anyway, hope to get some pics up when I've washed and polished the Zed.

Best wishes to all.

Hi, for those of you that are interested...I covered 948.4 miles at an average speed of just 50.7 and achieved 39.2 MPG. Banks of the Mersey to Costa del Crime! Parked up at the back of the Sunset Beach Club for anyone that knows it. I'm surprised at the average speed as apart from one longish hold up in UK it was straight through drive in Spain. Anyway, looking forward to giving it a wash and polish this weekend.

Cheers.
