Well as you know it’s now here and it’s lovely. Couple of quick observations, the colour and combo with the shadowline pack really suits this car and we’re delighted with it. I honestly have lost count of the amount of comments and compliments we’ve had.

It’s a very nice place to be and I like the smooth drive and tech in it. The biggest surprise, probably because I’ve never had it before, is the adaptive cruise. I really really like it. The seating position and overall cabin space is great.

Personal choice again but I’m so glad we never went for frozen grey. Came out this morning and the bonnet had some serious bird sh!t on it. Being ceramic coated it was down to Halfords’s for some Autoglym bird dropping removal wipes and after leaving them soaking for 5-10 minutes they came off no bother.

Anyway some of you asked for some proper photos so here you go, oh and I forgot how hot it can be with the roof down
Car looks great Andy, great photos and was interesting to see the Scone Palace sign, I went to primary school in Scone and secondary in Perth. Enjoy the new car.

Thanks, it’s a small world l that’s the first time we’ve been to Scone palace. Was very restricted due to lockdown so we just came back out and will revisit at a later date

Ahhh man. She looks so good.
How you finding her? Positive and negative.

Ps. Glad to see you park a mile from the curb to protect those alloys. ;)

Cheers Ori, I’ll give some feedback after I’m home and had another full day at the wheel :driving:

Yes, it’s an even smaller world in New Zealand, I can assure you. Some great roads over there for a Z. Have fun.

There's a M40i in frozen grey with 4k on the clock going through BCA this week

Is that the one from last week going back through?

Don't think it is Andy, the one last week was red and the grey one before was in Glasgow and this one is in Blackbushe

Just wondering what your car came shod with, the specification states Michelin Pilot Super-sports, but these have been superseded commercially by Pilot Sport 4S though for OEM’s they may still be produced

Sars, Pilot Super Sports with a very recent DOT date

Thanks,

Yeah, the M3s and M4's are coming with Super Sports too,SARS/Andy.
One of my mates recently bought a fully loaded M4 Competition, and I was surprised to see Super Sports on it,given they were replaced a wee while ago by Michelin.
Good tyres, but as said, replaced by newer pilot 4S tyres.
Strange one.

Car looks lovely,Andy.
There's a couple of Misano Blue M49i's in my area, and on my list if I ever bought one.
As Swiftly said, hopefully see it on a run sometime soon.

Enjoy

Looking forward to reading your comments Andy when you've had chance to take it all in.

So that’s us home, what a fantastic weekend and a fantastic way to get to know the new car, I know I’m spoilt with the roads I have easy access to so a last few photos of the end of our trip

We had good company in the hotel car park this morning, the 4th member of the group was a burnt orange GTR parked separately, they were up to do the NC500 :driving:

Thanks lads, it was a fantastic weekend and as you’ve seen with loads of photo opportunities

Some great pics buddy - every time you post I know that I need to do a trip to Scotland so going to get that planned in for certain, the roads and scenary look amazing :driving:

Car looks good and the colour is one of the two I would pick on a G29

Sean, get organising, you won’t regret it :driving:

As you know the colour choice was a longish process for us but can’t tell you how delighted we are with the blue, today at least 3 or 4 people said how lovely it was and how much it popped in the sun

Got to say, I'm not a fan of blue cars but there's something about a G29 in Misano blue :yeah:

Photo's look great Andy, Nice car, good company, excellent roads and beautiful scenery, you won't stop grinning until the road fund licence is due. :poke:

I will be planning for a week next year - we could fly up and hire a camper as my daughter did a few weeks ago but I would rather drive and enjoy the trip in the Zed. :driving:

I would have been the same (see wheel thread), I typically go for blue or red cars but have had a few white lately (think it suites the e89) plus an Orange 208Gti - the blue on the G29 looks good to me, think I have seen 6 or more by me and all black or white and I am not certain they suite the G29 so much.

I think you will enjoy this one quite a bit - cant wait to read your thoughts on the car and the tech which will interest me

Cheers, everything was great

Two comments on the RFL, one,you pair don’t seem to think I’ll have it that long :poke:  and two, I don’t actually think it’s much more than the 35iS iirc and by the time it’s 5 years old it’s much cheaper, which the next owner will no doubt get the benefit of

You certainly are lucky to live near roads like that!

Every time someone posts photos like yours I keep wanting to plan another trip North of the border.

I have to say, not doing it in the Z4 would be a mistake IMHO, it just adds greatly to the trip

I will give a rundown on the general findings and the tech when I get time but as I’ve mentioned the active cruise is the hands down winner so far
