OMG soooo cheap - someone rescue it please

Yes Breaker, I am in the same boat as you and looked into offloading my 3.0l coupe, same age and spec as yours.

They offered no more than 20k. However, they want atleast a 3/4k proffit otherwise they're not bothered.

So whack 4k+ to their valuation and that what you're target price would be to sell it privately.

Mine is a 2007 57 Sep Reg, All the options going nearly. Parkers good is 26'500. I'm gonna try for about £24500 I think.

Should go okay, hopefully!

P.S. They are greedy bastards charging you that much to upgrade to the M. They should give you part ex at fair price as they are already making on your purchase on the M.

I know, that price is a bit silly to change. I'm actually not interested in selling my 3.0si or buying an M mind, I just did it as an exercise.
I'm more than happy with my Z4 at the moment (unless that V8 M3 comes down in price more!). :)

If it makes you M owners feel a little happier. To see how the 3.0si's are doing now the prices on the M's are coming down, I phoned a dealer about this M (£30,949 good price for age of car!) http://www.dicklovettbristolbmw.co.uk/usedbmw/view_model.html?dolnDealerID=14100&currentCh=WBSDU92040LF78989

£31k for a 5 month old M???

Jeebus.

OK, not the best colour combo but well specced.

I'm gonna stop coming on here!

...They offered me £19,000!! Nearly £12,000 to change and for what? Guess I'll be keeping the 3.0si for a bit! I can get it supercharged for £6,000 all in! :D
Shameful, I bought my SLK instead of an ///M because the dealers were so greedy and unwilling to reach a fair deal, seems that nothing changes with them, even in periods of credit crunch :scratchhead:

No EDC on that one, so I would avoid it. Every car has must-haves and I think EDC is the one for the M3.

Eeek, colour looks OK to me though, not a reason for such a cheap car.

Keep yours and it won't matter, me too. Got to resist the urge to keep changing cars :)

+1 I like that colour too.

Erm.... what is EDC :?
Similar to magnetic ride on the Audi TT and A5, also on the new Scirocco IIRC.

http://www.bmw.com/com/en/insights/technology/technology_guide/articles/electronic_damper_control.html

Electronic Damper Control (EDC).
Electronic Damper Control (EDC) reduces variations in wheel load, ensures tyres have excellent traction and counteracts bodyshell movement regardless of the weight your automobile may be carrying - and regardless of the state of the road's surface. EDC can even help shorten braking distances, meaning you enjoy outstanding comfort along with the best in BMW on-road safety.

Sensitive sensors constantly monitor all factors influencing the vehicle's behaviour and occupants’ comfort, including road conditions, load changes and vehicle speed. In a fraction of a second, the signals are analysed by the EDC microprocessor and orders are sent to the actuators on the shock absorbers, which, with the help of magnetic valves, are variably adjusted to provide optimal suspension.
Thanks to Electronic Damper Control, the tendency for the nose to dip when braking is practically eliminated. The influence of potholes and unevenness on the road surface is reduced to minimum. Whether you're behind the wheel or relaxing in the rear of the cabin, EDC delivers a remarkably smooth and comfortable ride.

Yep, from the looks of things it will be *the* thing to have on an M3, so I'd be wary about buying one without it, a bit like sat nav and 19s were essential on the E46 M3. Not that I'll be getting an M3 in the forseeable anyway :)

I like the colour, just not the interior.

I very nearly bought a demo in the same colour before I ordered mine, but bottled it because of the seats. Happy I did now.

I know what you mean too Mike re: the urge. I've never had a car long than 2.5 years.

Must. Fight. Too. Big. A. Loss.

I wish we had Monaco Blue as an option! I love it!

Seriously though, just like houses it doesn't actually matter. If you are losing lots on yours and buying in the same sector - i.e. a performance car in the current quiet period - then the car you are buying is likely to be cheaper too.

I always wear jeans so I think it would be too light for me, I do like it though.

Me neither, but I think this time I'll get to 3 years, looking to change in Summer 2010. I'm off to do another project which means working away, so I won't actually be doing any driving through the week at all.

This is true, but better to be selling a complete shed worth £1000 and buying an ///M rather than trying to change up.

Are you mad! The champagne nappa leather is the thing that sold my car to me!

This looks gorgeous man! :P

Way better than boring black!

Don't be fooled by the light seats! I wear jeans a lot, don't really take care about how I enter the car or what I sit on out the car.
I have had one small dirt mark on the drivers seat where my shoe brushed the seat getting in, cleaned off with some spit and my finger! To be honest it's the thing that I like the sound of on that M is that it was almost the same colour scheme as my 3.0si.

Saying that, if I had thought of buying a roadster, I may have thought twice about the interior being that colour.

Just not for me mate. It did look nice on the one I was going to get, but personally I thought the very dark blue and champagne just didn't blend. To be fair, with yours being a lighter blue, it carries it off better.

I know some don't like the red, but I braved that as I've wanted red for years.

Would look better IMHO with a black centre console too. Interesting to see that it wears OK with jeans though, I might consider something lighter next time.

On a plus note aside from the depreciation, I was working today (on a building site) and walking back to the car it was filthy. But I just couldn't help think what a bloody beautiful machine it is!

Car colours are a personal thing I know but the contrast between neutral trim and colour can be so important. Look at the specs on any Porsche to see what I mean. There are so many with one colour for everything from console to seats that you wonder what the owner's livingroom loooks like!
