Thanks, so far I've replaced a starter. Getting stuck the night before my wedding (the Z4 was the getaway car) with said bad starter really made me appreciate how within 2 days parts can fail on an older car. So now I'm strongly thinking of paying to get the water pump, alternator, & what ever other not easy to change part swapped out.
(actually I don't think the alternator would be too bad - it's the water pump I'm worried about)
*edit* I'm not actually having any problems with any parts on the car - I just have seen with water pumps in other vehicles it tends to be 7 years or approx 75K miles that they fail. My car has shattered both those time lines.....
