Older / higher mileage Z4s?

Im driving a 2004 60,000 3.0 as a daily driver, do around 1400 miles per month in it - very very reliable never had any issues over the usual wear items... but if you are doing your sort of milage I would go for a diesel 3 series? I get 260 miles between fill up's on 97 RON/50 litres works out about £60 a tank where as a diesel you could nearly double that in range I guess it depends who is paying for the fuel :D :D

I've got a 123d coupe myself and she's not really interested. She's decided that she wants a nice convertible and there we go. I'm just checking that it won't be a complete disaster, because I'll undoubtedly get the blame if it is.

(There may also be a small amount of self interest as I quite fancy the zed for weekends myself :D )

Just being pragmatic that if the car had to do that mileage and ability to get to places without fail then the Zed would not be top of my list as great a drive as it is..

I agree. Currently, I use the tube for work as I'm at a central London hospital this year, but soon I'll be out in the sticks for 12 months. I'll be commuting 80-100 miles a day in my ///M, and I don't think my seven is a practical back up! As such, I'm looking quite seriously at another car both to limit the mileage I pile on the Z, and just in case reliability is an issue.

What about a E46 330d vert.

Just a thought, althought I'm not sure about a diesel soundtrack in a vert.

Yeah the soundtrack is one issue.

There's also precisely one on Autotrader within 60 miles (so 120 mile round trip) for anything like the money I want to spend, so they're not exactly common :(

I'm not looking for the most practical option here, just trying to confirm that the zed won't be prohibitively impractical, and I don't think it will be. She wants a zed, I want a zed when she's not using it, but not if it's going to be a complete PITA. Otherwise :driving:
