Old or New Z4?

Has anyone boght the new Z4 3.0i and is missing the old Z4 3.0si?

Are the new ones any better or too refined/soft?

I have a 57 Z4 3.0si Coupe and just can't imagine the new ones being better!

Any opinion would be very useful for my next purchase, as i will either get a new 3.0i or go for one of the last Z4 M Coupe's.

No!

The main thing that impresses me about the new one is the steering response when driving fast on twisty roads. A lot more confidence inspiring. It's also a lot nicer inside!

The two cars are different though and the good thing for me is that this new one does seem a step up and not just a newer Z4, but it's a step up to a GT car rather than another sports car.

tried a new one 2.5 though not with a view to buy as above budget, very nice didnt like the small boot, bought a 57 3.0si, much more hardcore sports car but its what i was after. horses for courses i think

Having driven the new Z4 2 times now I quite agree it is different and more like a GT cars than a sports car...

I still think the Z2 (if it happens) will be more the predecessor of the 1st gen Z4 than the 2nd gen Z4 is. :wink:

Now if they put that 35i engine in one of those!!
