I'm with taz a bit here, the shape of the first Z3 got me. That Classic look was all I needed. it also happened to open my eyes to BMW. :driving:

er but, if it was an hyundia, kia etc, would i have bought 1, mmmmmmmmm tricky question

Good point
Honda NO
Toyota NO.......maybe
North American ...NO except the new Vettes
Some euro makes ....yes

bought the roadster cause i think they are way better looking

and u can put the roof down

no brainer for me :D

Well as I'm a skin head I didn't contemplate the roadster as it either means a hat when it's chilly or sun block in the sun. However i am of the frame of mind that the roadster does look rather girly. There are very few convertibles that blokes can get away with driving without looking a tad mince. Most of these are large exec style 5 seater cars.

I'm not actually a BMW fan, never really have been due to the stereotypical image of their drivers. However the lines of the Coupe got my attention and I like having something a little different. It certainly turns heads.

Hello. I am Pawn, I drive a roadster :D

However, the responses on this did set me thinking... I bought my car in the pre-facelift days, there was no coupe to tempt me. I think I would regret not having a roadster, I have the roof down so much, although I wouldn't have known that at the time. I consider a coupe (M) from time to time, but that would really only be change for changes sake.

Also, have to confess to warming a lot to the E89, best of both? Maybe. Not entirely sure I'll get 2 sets of golf clubs in the boot though.

with the roof down the roadster is nice, but hood i don't like any roadsters - i would consider a hard top convertible, I could not afford an E89, but thats ok cos still i think the coupe as the edge looks wise

My e89 feels a lot different from the early Z4, roof up or down , doesn't matter. It's a much nicer car , oops Im outnumbered on here...... Sent from my iPad1.

Had a 2003 3.0 Roadster and now a 2007 Z4M roadster, open top motoring is intoxicating and I would regret not having the roof if I went for a coupe - can't help but be smiley and happy driving in the summers sun on a nice country road! :D :driving:

This is my 3rd convertible after owning 2 Mustangs. In all cases I wouldn't have bought them if the top didn't go down. Car season is short here and you have to enjoy it!

I was shopping for a GT500 convertible and when I saw what it was going to cost me I realized that as much as I loved my Stang, if I was going to pay that much for a car, it had better come from the Black Forest. That thought put me into the local BMW & Merc dealers for a test drive where the Zed won hands down. 6 weeks later I found a 3 year old BMW certified M with less than 20,000 km on the clock.

roadster here and REALLY pleased with it. Very surprised by how many coupes on here  . Wish I could afford an E89 as I'd defo have one...
