OK - New owner finally!

Well, Zed is coming home!...
Not going into all the details but.. Front brakes seized, roof not operating, pick and mix tyres and really needs some tlc..

Got the price down to 1250 from 1500 which covers the transport home, definitely wasn't going anywhere with brakes in the state they're in. Should be getting delivered Tuesday morning. 1st job will be to get all the brakes serviced for an MoT and then we'll see where we stand. I may be the owner, doesn't mean to say that I'm keeping it! Cheers for all the help folks... Watch this space.

Thanks for the input folks. Time to get my hands dirty. Anyone got a spare Haynes manual?

Well done, enjoy the car when you get it back on the road.

If you are reasonable with a set of spanners hopefully you'll be able to sort the brakes reasonably cheaply. Cost may increase if you need a set of refurbished calipers, although I suspect there are plenty of refurb kits to enable you to do it yourself.

In terms of the Haynes Manual, service manuals may be available online. If they are available, I suspect one of the forum veterns like enuff_zed may be able to send you a link.

I admire you for taking on this project. I was tempted by the Project Spa car, although given the startup issues with the vehicle I suspect I would have been totally out of my depth :D

Thanks mate, appreciated! - 'Project Spa' car has lost me but aye, I'm OK with most mechanicals but get a bit twitchy with some of the engine stuff. Going to keep the updates coming on here 😁

[ref]Trumpetdude[/ref], PM me with your email address and I can help you with some maintenance documentation.

I would also suggest that you make a shopping list.
Obviously stuff like brakes etc you'll be buying new, but if you need any other bits and bobs I'm sure the forum can help out and keep your costs a bit lower.

Well done on your purchase! Cheap wee project. AUTODOC have a sale on this weekend if you need parts

Brake parts for a 2.0 are quite cheap unless the past owners have done the 3.0 brake conversion. GSF auto parts may be in your area and you can get parts quite easily. I suggest you also change the oil. There are plenty of videos on YouTube on how to change the brakes. Onlinecarparts have calipers from £46

Congratulations on finally getting a Z4! It's great to see an unloved one brought back to good health, so good luck getting it sorted.
