If it's like the 3.0 si there is an electronic dipstick that works via the dashboard button between the speedo/tachometer-it's the button on the right.

Whaaat? That's ridiculous. Electronics can always fail. Would feel much more comfortable being able to physically check it.

Think bmw have that covered, if it fails it lets you know with an error message-it is more convenient I spose & I'm checking my oil more than ever now!
