oil!

 i'm from the bay (california)
what kind of oil do you folks use on your zed? i wanted to use royal purple, only because i know it's pretty decent. but.. what others are there? type of driving?? aggressive street racing, basically.
 
Thats a dangerous question on a internet board :fuelfire: since there are many opinions and preferences with oil. The safe answer is any synthetic oil meeting the BMW specifications listed in your owner manuals will do just fine. :thumbsup:
 
well, not trying to be a smart-ass.. but.. i know to use synthetic oil and all stuff. buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut... i really wanted to know if others out there use something besides bmw-approved castrol synthetic oil. if nothing really compares.. oh well. i'm still happy.
 
I bought the new castrol edge 5w-30 BMW approved stuff. However I have yet to need to put any in the engine :? Thought these 3.0's were prone to using a bit of the black stuff :D
 
I use amsoil 5w30 and am very pleased with it, they practically invented synthetic oil in the first place, there web site is pretty good, never through all of the web surfing i've done or people I've talked too has anyone said a bad thing about amsoil oil. period.
