Hi!

I have a problem that needs solving.

My Zed's oil warning light comes up sometimes after stopping the engine. But when I check the oil level (after 5min) from the oil dipstick the oil level seems to be on the right level. So should I trust the oil warning light and put more oil? Or should I trust the oil dipstick and not put more oil? I'm confused.. What should I do?

Thank you all in advance for your help in this issue.

An oil sensor can malfunction. A dipstick can't (in normal circumstances - have to say that, or we'll get lots of tales of dipsticks breaking off or being the wrong length 8-)).

I would always trust the dipstick before the oil light. The question is why is the oil light coming on?

Regards,
Philip

Mine does this, from what I have researched it's a new sensor, hoping someone more knowledgeable can confirm :)

My oil light comes on when the oil level gets to between half way of the 2 markers on the dipstick, a quick top up solves it, if yours is reading full or nearly full then as already suggested it's probably a faulty sensor.
