Unless you've no dip stick :thumbsdown: then as far as I know they're no use
I bought the electric one from Lidl when they had them, I did read up beforehand as I was under the impression that they couldn't get as much oil as draining from the sump plug, consensus was that these vacuum ones got more out as even the sump drain method leaves some oil in the bottom.
I've used the Lidl one twice now - each drain took around 10-15 mins, however, an oil change is still a bit of messy job & you still have to get underneath the car to remove the oil filter anyway.
I guess this would work out best if the car in question's sump drain wasn't easily inaccessible without removing the undertray etc.

Yep. Highly recommended!
Been using one for a couple of years now. Reaches the deepest darkest recesses of ur sump to extract every last drop! Well, almost.
Easier than shuffling underneath the motor or raising the car to get at the sump plug. Makes doing ur own oil service a doddle.
Was thinking about doing an oil change today but the weather is sh!te and I'm still trying to get rid of a bacterial pneumonia *kof, wheeze* :roll:

I've had the Pela one for years. Few pumps and leave it do the job whilst you get in with something else. ALSO excellent for draining the swimming pools either side of the roof..

I don't have a dip stick but use it all the time. Just goes down the fill hole!
I try not to reads these threads because it usually costs me money.
I was dubious about these pumps I didn't think you'd get all the oil out.
Well how wrong was I , the easiest and cleanest oil change I've ever done. The longest time was waiting 20 minutes to do the engine flush, the rest was clean, quick and simple. Should have bought one years ago

Who makes that particular one? Looks like it holds a fair amount of oil.
P.s what do you do with the oil afterwards?
Sorry for the noob questions. I'd like to do my own oil changes but have never fancied the old fashioned method of removing the sump plug and getting covered in black stuff.

My one is a Sealy it holds 6:5 litres which is the amount for a 6 cylinder oil and filter change.
There are others on evilbay that hold 7 or 9 litres.
Carefully Pour the old oil into your old 4 litre oil bottle (you'll need a funnel if you haven't got one ) and the rest into milk or pop bottles.
Take it to the local recycle tip.
It's a doddle of a job from the sump but this saves getting the car on ramps and crawling underneath

I'd like to know the answer to this question! Can't see how the tube will reach down to the bottom of the sump....Brill if it does!

I do this too, some of our cars don't have dipsticks so I keep the old oil containers so I can fully decant all the old oil. Take to the dump when full. Just remember which bottles are old oil! No good topping up with old oil!! :lol:
