Oil usage

BMW's tolerances are very high something like 1 litre per 1000km so they wont want to know. Think I had added 2 litres to my N52 engine at around 14k

It's about right. My E60 (with N52) also used 1 litre of oil every 6-7k miles.

Do you have a 35i? My average mpg is 26! Not used for town driving either! Mind you on a trip the weekend to London and back on motorways, average up to 30.7 mpg.

No have the 3.0 litre, but I do lots of motorway miles (about 450 per week) and stick to 70 mph on cruise, used to do the same with A4 and only got 44 mpg, so I have an extra 118 bhp and have dropped 7 mpg

Interested to know how others are faring with the service intervals?

My service interval is saying another 7000 miles till first service. I've done 13,860 now.

Just for peace of mind contacted my dealer about oil consumption and they put me onto a technician. He said that is well within tolerance and they do use a bit of oil.
