I don't think the oil you posted has been approved to that spec but it does meet other comparable specifications such as VW 504.00/507.00 which is the VW long life specification. I doubt any harm has been done. It should be a quality and quite suitable oil.
I am sure you are being sensible and changing it twice as often as BMW recommend anyway

I was merely meaning that generally 5w30 would be the norm not 0w30 would it not ? no need for the aloof pedantry rant .

the dealers don't seem to agree, my car was on BMW 0W-30 oil when I had it. It's not now 5W-30

I'm not saying 0w30 is wrong or not recommended. I just think that by now early 3.0i M54 engines are on 5w30 (generally :roll
Best thing to do is go onto Opie Oils, put your REG in and select Millers Oils NANODRIVE EE LongLife C3 5w-30 Fully Synthetic Engine Oil.
Order enough for the car along with a filter!
Been changing the oil every year and this is all that goes in the Z4. Never had to top it up and there are no leaks either.
Always had excellent service from them.

Probably me in all honesty :roll: fuse was shorter than usual after a taxing few days over the channel & spending the afternoon travelling through northern France to get ferry home

Thanks all for the input sounds like 5w-30 is the way to go - looks like the 3.0i is incoming so will get it booked in with my local independent for a full interim servic

My handbook for a 2004 3.0i says either 0w30, 5w30 or 5w40 to BMW-LL04 specification. I personally use 5w40 these days, with it being an older engine and on advice from experienced mechanics. It's become a second car now too, only used for decent length journeys so plenty of time on a run to get everything hot.
