Oil service

I paid £198 for oil service (including oil filter & of course Oil) considering my car is a 2004 2.5 few months ago, 1st they wanted £240!

Shouldn't have to pay more than about £170 if you ring around a few.

If the car's over 4 years old, you should get a discount on their equivalent of the now-defunct FourPlus scheme. You should also get a discount at participating dealers if you're a BMW CC member.

This scheme any ideas on inspection 1 costs for a 3.0 z4? What's the lowest I should expect? £300 was the lowest I could find

Don't see how 6.5 litres of LL01 oil (£50 for 10L of Mobil Synt S 5w40 LL01 from Opie), plus an oil filter (£12 from BMW), plus even 1 hour's labour (£50?) can equal £170 at an indy. It's only that much at BMW due to the £120/hour labour rate.

A BMW Value Service on a 2006 3.0 e46 is £159, so I'd be finding a dealer that does the value service and get them to match it for the 3.0 Z4.

Synters in Nottingham want £210, my local indie..Sports Tech Ilkeston is £172

For anyone interested i found this oil service online at National[http://www.national.co.uk/oil-vehicle-search.aspx].Premium
Castrol edge 5W30 Full Synthetic (includes oil filter)
£54.00.My zed had a oil service before i bought it 10 months ago,but as i've only done 1000 miles since i'm booking it in for this in the spring. :D

Supply your own oil and it will not cost more the £100 at the stealers. Not worth going to an Indy if you have FSH.

Done last week oil, filters oil and air and checks that go with it.
Indy £178.00. Oil being most, seems about the norm, and the most expensive part the stamp in the book. :|
