Oil Service Question

My //M is due an oil service soon and was wondering if anyone knows an indy in the north london area, i live in enfield if that helps.

I've had a quote from my local bmw and they want £189 for an oil service, i'm not sure is that's a good price or if that's too much as i don't know what is involved in an oil service apart from the obvious.

Any recommendations would be very much appreciated

That sounds like standard BMW service pricing of "take the true value, multiply by 5 and then act like its a brilliant price".
What do they do apart from the obvious? They take more of your money than is fair and then expect you to be happy about it

Hahahaha thanks for that, i'm well aware they're a bunch of ripoff c**ts but unless i can find a local //m indy looks like i'll be going to them

I wouldn't know where to start. Not really a mechanical person so prefer to leave it up to the experts

"experts" <- if a 16 year old with his trousers half way down his a£$e counts as an expert then you're in great hands at the dealers

Good luck with your oil and filter change, I'd suggest trying an independent local garage with an older gent running the show, I've always been impressed with the customer service you get at those little one man outfits. Not much can go wrong with an oil service, just make sure they know what oil to use and how much

I take mInes to a local backstreet garage for oil changes with me providing the oil and filter from eurocarparts
They charge me an hours labour at £30 lol and I watch them do the work. Not much involved in an oil change. Would never use the main dealer unless I was still under warranty.
