Oil service, oil service or oil service, insp

My MC needs an oil and brake fluid change on a time , rather than mileage, basis.
Should the dealer reset the service indicator so I have to have an Insp II next, or do they not reset it and I continue as is?

I realise that Insp's are usually use/mileage related and, ideally, I'd remain on the current schedule and complete the oil service interval before the countdown to the Insp begins, but what do the dealers actually do? Can they reset just the brake fluid change, and not the service indicator?

I know this has been done to death and I have read the other threads, so I hope to continue having oil services until my mileage limit is up

Looking at the service booklet, one of the items during an oil service should be to reset the service indicator, so I guess that will force me to an Insp II in two years (as I won't be doing the miles)

If its a mid term oil+filter change i'd assume they dont reset the service indicator, maybe the oil service the book refers to is the actual oil service inbetween Inspections that are mileage driven and not the time driven ones.

Yes they should reset the service indicator as next youll be due an inspection.

If they didn't reset after oil then when the mileage count down hits zero it will go negative.

It's pretty simple, oil, inspection, oil, inspection etc

you give along the cycle every 2 years or mileage based whatevers first. countdown is restarted after each one. simple.
