Oil Service no.2

My 2nd oil service is due very soon (the one inbetween inspection 1 and 2).

Does the service involve anything other than changing the oil and related filters and bits? I mean, should they check or service other parts of the car (brake pads/discs, etc)? I want to check before taking it to an Indy.

My brake fluid clock light has come up too and the computer says it's due for a change this month. Is this a seperate thing completely which just happens to coincide with my service?

Thanks

The service book contains a table of everything that should be included in the oil service. The service is exactly the same as the first service (around 15,000 miles) I think.

The brake fluid change is a 2 yearly thing. This is separate from all other services and costs about £70 I think (unless you do it yourself).

Doh! Should've checked the obvious place

It involves changing the oil and filters, changing the aircon filters and checking the brake pads/discs.

How much have you guys paid for an oil service and was it through BMW or an Indy?

My last service was Oil Service 2 and was £180 at the BMW dealership. Ended up getting a few more things done at the same time though. Rear brake pads were overpriced but that was expected. Got the rear springs changed for free at the same time, although they were going to charge me until I questioned it and they checked with BMW's computers.

They also wanted to replace one tyre but I laughed at their prices and wanted rid of the runflats anyway. So a service and set of new tyres was an expensive week :(
