Oil Service from dealer - whats your best price?

Had the Oil Service done, strangely they used Shell Ultra Racing 1 instead of Castrol, the guy said both were still fine, just down to how much it costs the dealer. He also said they could be mixed in the future, is this true? Hope so, as I've just bought 4l of Castrol.

While I was waiting the techies kept coming in and moaning that the service shouldn't be done for the M3 price of £169, as the filters were different or something, to which the guy said it was only £15 so not to worry.

They checked the brake pads, 11mm front, 9mm rear, bit embarrassing as I think they are still the originals

This car really needs a proper driver as it's owner :)

It's got BMW M approval, so I assume it would be fine.

Just about to book mine in for an Oil Service. It will be at Sytner Nottingham because I have a £270 credit note after I complained about over-pricing on a replacing a damaged tyre (which received a puncture on their premises). BUT, I want to tie them down to a price-match first so I've started ringing around. So far I've been quoted £255 at Sopers (including brake fluid change) and £305 at Sytner!!! Going to get quotes from usual cheap suspects (Batemans, Elms etc) just to ensure I get the best deal I can out of Sytner.

Any other suggestions? I could bring my own oil of course, but that means I have to go back to Sytner again for something else in the future to get the remaining credit note spent. I'd rather not bother to be honest. After being a loyal customer for 7 years the way they dealt with my complaint was shocking and this is the last time i ever intend to use them.

ETA Motorsport near/opposite Brands Hatch. Amazing indy and did my oil service a few months back. I supplied filter and oil. Think they charged me about £40 or £50. Havent had an inspection done yet but when I do I'll be contacting them again.

But Simpsons Motorsport is only 7 mile away so might ring them for a quote :D
Have you tried forzawest yet, they are in chepstow and do BMW and TVR servicing,I havent tried them myself yet but their insp 2 prices are significantly lower than main dealers.

some crazy figures buzzing around for oil & filter change :o
as with all my cars i would rather spend with an indy & get more done than settle for " the stamp" for basic stuff carried out by a junior at a main dealer .
had my interim oil+filter done soon as i got my 3.0 , ,it had covered 4k in 14 months & i prefer to do it once a yr or 7k miles .
was charged £65 by my BM master tech .
L,life oil used but i,l change it again before needed

drove past lloyds BMW colne(lancs) today with advert outside for genuine oil+filter service / £99  that's more like it :x
