Oil service cost

I've been quoted £200 by an independent specialist and £245 by my local stealer does this sound about right? Do you think that's the reduced quote for a BM over 5 years old that stealers are meant to offer now?

My cars a 3.0si

Both sound expensive to me.

BMW should offer it for £189 if not less.

I paid less just under £100 but i supplied my own oil. That was a few years ago now but ill be doing the same again soon :D

thank you, very interesting, I'll be contacting my dealer ......... for my normal discount

I note however that the Rear Brake Pads @ £119 is only that, it does not include checking / replacing of the handbrake shoes which I find to be a major fault on BMW's - and was as usual [as it has been on all the BMW's I have owned] an advisory for me at my first Z4 MOT  ].

I'll need to ask them about this.

:crazydude: :dizzy: :crazydude: :heat: :punch: :fightwall: .............How much!!!

I got quoted the £189 value price from Eastern BMW (Edinburgh) for my 3.0si too, though as it's also £72.70 without oil and 8l of Castrol Edge 5w30 is £60-65 online there's a £50+ saving there :).

I can't believe they charge that much for an oil change. it only takes about 1/2 hour - with the filter as well.

Are BMW obliged to service for these prices? The cowboys at Dick Lovett Hungerford charged way more than these quoted oil changes, and changed the price upon pickup from the original quote!

Obviously they are using liquid gold as oil. A complete joke. 'The Emperors new cloak' comes to mind.

DIY Engine, Gearbox, and Diff with excellent oils from RedLine Supplier (Deamon Tweaks) inc filter. about £80-00 and self satisfaction. Cheers Baz
