Oil Pan Gasket Replacement

Went to change the oil pan gasket, only to find I couldn't remove the bolts to the rear of the engine as it was too close to the transmission. It's bad enough having to raise the engine, surely I don't have to remove transmission too? Have I missed something?

Are they the ones around the rear at the join between the engine and gearbox?

Should come out without the box off???

Yes it is. I tried getting it out as far as I could but as you can see from the picture, it wouldn't come out far enough

The subframe was dropped, but the picture on the original post was the bolts in-between the oil pan gasket and the transmission, I couldn't remove the bolts far enough to get out under the lip
