Oil light on Z4 E86 3.0si

I've checked my garage for some engine oil and found this nearly full. Not sure if it was for my previous car or this. Can I use this?

I wouldn't put that in it!

BMW original spec was fully synthetic, originally Castrol Edge then they changed to Shell Helix Ultra - both to BMW LL04 spec.

Despite what it says on the label, that is not the highest quality product. Maybe OK for topping up if you are desperate (on the basis that some oil is better than no oil), but I wouldn’t use it for an oil change. It also looks quite old, so the most humane thing to do would be to dispose of it at the tip.
