Just picked the car up today to have the BLUE SMOKE issue resolved. I know its been over a year since my last post on this and a big thanks to everyone who pointed in the direction of valve stem seals.
Heads up to JINGLE who tipped me off about a garage near to me which I didn't know about.
So apart from replacing the CCV and breather pipe in the hope that was the fault I had the full monty done.
JINGLE will also confirm the state of my timing chain!!!!
Work carried out was..........
Removal of rocker & timing chain/ Cams & rockers.
Installation of valve stem seals x 16, install new timing chain & tensioners, new rocker gasket, clean vanos & test.
Replace oil and filter
They also had to do a bit of work on the cylinder head but stuck to their quote.
All in incl. VAT was £1265.
I know there is a bit of Placebo effect but to me it has transformed the car. Its amazing to drive now anywhere as I used to avoid busy places due to the stupid amounts of blue smoke when warm.
So anybody near Norfolk or in Norfolk the company is M Kraft in Coltishall and I can't thank them enough!!!!
