Oil light flashing

I agree what you're saying here, but it seems odd that there was no yellow light, just straight to red?

[ref]enuff_zed[/ref], second post, page 1 of this the OP said yellow light did come on, looks like he ignored it as no mention of filling at that point…… :tumbleweed:

That’s a big mistake in this imo. I carry a litre of oil with my N52 and as soon as Amber warning light, in it goes and the bottle gets refilled when I get home

Hi all, sorry for the late update.

When the yellow light came on I did indeed top it up and it’s been fine since then.
After looking at the advice on here, especially the manual (cheers for that), the oil level is reading ok.
No sign of any leaks anywhere at all. Fired up the engine and it ran fine all the way home and has been good since then.
Currently on the sick, laid up in bed with full blown man-flu! Once I’m back in my feet, I’m going to change the oil and filter.
Hopefully that will all be good then

Ah, you're saying it was yellow not red?
Sorry I got a bit lost there.

Sorry, the yellow light came on a few weeks ago so I topped it up. The red one came on yesterday morning as I was pulling into the car park at work. Been fine since though, still going to change it when I get a chance.

 Mine uses 1ltr per 1000 miles but yours seems excessive if topped up a couple of weeks ago unless you’re doing a big regular mileage?

To be honest, I'm beginning to suspect it was just an anomaly caused by a dodgy sensor as it's been fine ever since those 30 seconds in the car-park.
