Oil level

Seasons greetings
Has anyone had the yellow oil light and beep after being parked on a slope, nose down in this case.

I normally park on the flat section of our driveway but my son has a ridiculous low fiesta so he's claimed that area, the z4 is now on the slopey side.

The car definitely doesn't leak oil, its not been driven for a while so just wondering if the sensor had dried out with all the oil leaking away because of the angle?

Also which oil check procedure do we all use
Check it cold or the drive it ,stop, wait 5 minutes nonsense

For info the light didn't come on at startup it came on when I turned the car off after a 10 minute drive, I've driven it a couple of times since and it hasn't happened again.

Yes, with the nose down the oil level sensor can come on. Assuming you have the electronic dipstick, it is usually best to warm the car, for around 15 minutes before pressing the button to get a reading. If the normal dipstick, read the oil level when cold.

Mine does this every now and then, I’ve read on here somewhere that it can be a faulty sensor. Even with the oil up to almost full.

Be careful about parking on a steep slope. I have read that this can sometimes result in water ingress on soft top models

Hi yes I normally like to park on the level bit of the drive however I work away for periods of time and have no control of where the less sympathetic members of my family park the z4 :D

If you park nose down and the roof drains are blocked then water can find its way down the b pillars and into the airbag modules on a prefacelift
