Oil Leak adhesive sealant - oil additive - anyone used this ?

Hi all,

Like most I have the oil leakage from the area of the oil filter and probably from the engines top valve area as I can smell minor burnt oil.

I was recommended by a car mechanic (Non BMW specific garage) to use an OIL ADDITIVE called : VEIDEC - he claims it causes the rubber gaskets / seals to expand and this oil leakage stops.

I’m not sure how does this additive effect the engine - as I can bring of perhaps other runners seals meant for iolmpssinf through to “tighten “ and perhaps affect oil pressure - or have moving parts not recieve enough oil?

Does anyone have experience applying such a solution ?

Cheers,
Steven

I would - at least the top end ones - but isn’t the bottom crank / timing chain / oil filter area cost about 1000 euro parts and labor ?

Cheers 🍷

The oil filter housing gasket (assuming you have the M54 engine) is straightforward to replace yourself
