Oil Leak 04 z4

Im having a small but noticeable oil leak from near the oil filter housing.. I had a brand new oil filter housing gasket installed but it keeps leaking.. Its not the oil pan gasket either... The oil starts accumulating on the right side of the oil housing near the engine block.. Any ideas where this might come from ? Its pissing me off
 
Might be not properly torqued the oil filter housing to the block.
It might also be the vanos line (banjo bolt) or one of the sensors?

You had a new gasket installed...why? To stop that same leak?

It's a matter of cleaning with brake cleaner, take it for a small test drive and inspecting it with a mirror/flashlight or even an endoscope.
We cant diagnose that for you from behind our monitors :lol:
 
There are 2 gaskets need replacing.. the oil filter housing gasket and the oil cooler gasket... mine was leaking oil from both gaskets... check out this video.. it covers both gaskets

does he have a 4 cyl?
Might be interesting to know. Somewhere in 04 the n46 was introduced.
 
When I did this job I replaced oil filter housing seal, oil cooler seal and also the oil filter seals as was leaking for all 3. I also noticed a lot of crud so with very fine sand paper cleaned the mounting surfaces. Careful though as it seems to be a very soft metal.
